Arts and Entertainment in Fort Bend County

Life in Lakes of Bella Terra means being at the center of the cultural hub that is Fort Bend County. And for those who have a taste for the arts, there are many venues to enjoy concerts, performances and exhibits – all while being close to home. Here’s a look at some of the art and entertainment options nearby.

Cast Theatrical Company

CAST  is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, theatre arts organization producing live stage productions and children’s theatre education in Rosenberg for the local and wider audiences with the Greater Fort Bend County and surrounding areas. Founded by a small troupe of amateur actors, whose vision was to provide easy access to theatrical productions and theatre education for the enjoyment of the local community.

Fort Bend Symphony

Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra and Chorus strives to bring a diverse array of music to all ages in Fort Bend County, Texas and beyond. Founded in 1992, FBSO approaches our community as artistic partners, using multi-genre programming to create cultural conversations of value while appealing to a diverse swath of people. By intentionally curating concerts that initiate conversations about large-scale issues we can reinforce social cohesion, family ties and individual self-esteem, creating a better quality of life for our community.

The Fort Bend Museum

Museum in 19th-century dwellings with rotating exhibits, guided house tours & various themed events. More than 50 years ago, residents and leaders of Fort Bend County came together to create a museum and to commit to telling the story of how our area came to be. Thanks to their vision, we have a Museum where that story is housed and a home where it comes to life.

Museum of Natural Science

The Museum maintains two satellite facilities: The George Observatory in Fort Bend County, which houses one of the largest telescopes in the country that is available for public viewing; and the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land, which has exhibits on dinosaurs, mineralogy, live exotic frogs and more. It is a major science learning center with over a half million school children visiting annually, including every fourth grade and seventh grade class in the Houston Independent School District.

George Ranch Historical Park

Discover more than 100 years of Texas history with a trip through time at the George Ranch Historical Park! Located on a 20,000-acre working ranch, the Park is divided into four distinct home sites so you can experience Texas history through the eyes of four generations of one family. Marvel at the early tales of Texas and wander though the log cabin, gardens, barns and outdoor kitchens.

Katy Heritage Museum

An old-fashioned broad-ax slashed binder-twine was used to officially open the 9,600-square foot Katy Heritage Museum in 2002. Vintage farming equipment and artifacts from Katy’s agricultural and pioneering history are on display, along with scores of old photographs and fascinating antiques. School, clubs and groups can make arrangements for special tours.
